Arsenal Are Locked In A Three-Way Battle For This Atletico Madrid Forward: Good Choice For Arteta?

In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Arsenal are locked in a three-way battle for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez. It has been mentioned that the Gunners would have to rival Chelsea and Barcelona in the race to land the Argentine talent next summer.

Alvarez’s Impressive Record In Spain

Alvarez is having a decent campaign at the Madrid club after he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 26-year-old has banged in 13 goals and picked up six assists in 36 matches for Atletico Madrid this season on all fronts.

The Calchin-born talent is currently among the best strikers in La Liga. Therefore, the Gunners would do well to lure him to the Emirates Stadium next summer.

His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Is Alvarez A Good Choice For Arsenal?

Alvarez is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Argentine sensation can even contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. Alvarez is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if asked to do so. He already knows the Premier League well from his time at Manchester City and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Arsenal.

Alvarez would add more firepower to Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming years.

At 26, Alvarez has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Gunners to consider this summer. He will also help Arsenal compete for some major honours over the next few seasons. With all things considered, Arteta would be wise to go all out to bring him to the English capital later this year.
