Sunderland Are Eager To Recruit This Gifted Forward: What Will He Add To Le Bris’ Side?

In a recent report, Media Foot claimed that Sunderland are eager to recruit Saint-Etienne forward Lucas Stassin. It has been stated that the Black Cats have identified the Belgian striker as a transfer target this year.

Stassin’s Impressive Form In French Football

Stassin has put in a string of impressive displays for the French club in Ligue 2 in this campaign so far. The Belgian talent has scored four times and picked up four assists in 16 appearances for Saint-Etienne this season across multiple competitions.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye at times with his performances as the focal point of the French club’s attack. He is currently among the best young strikers in Ligue 2, so the Black Cats would do well to get him on board this year.

His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for Sunderland to sign him on the cheap this year.

What Will Stassin Add To Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris’ Side?

Stassin is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The Belgian sensation is a good dribbler with the ball as well. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in Premier League football if the Black Cats manage to snap him up this year. Furthermore, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth as a consistent performer at the highest level.

Still, we can expect Stassin to add more firepower to Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris’ attack. He is good enough to compete with Brian Brobbey and Wilson Isidor for a regular starting place at the Stadium of Light.

At 21, the future looks quite bright for Stassin as long as he continues to improve with each year. He has got the potential to be a future star in English football. With all things considered, Le Bris would be wise to go all out to bring him on board this winter or next summer.
