In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester City have set their sights on Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. It has been claimed that the Mancunian giants are eyeing a move to bring the Brazilian talent to the Etihad Stadium this year.
Rodrygo’s Impressive Form In La Liga
Rodrygo has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot at the Madrid club in this campaign so far, but has done well to put in a few eye-catching displays for them in the final third. The 25-year-old has scored three goals and earned six assists in 24 matches for Los Blancos this season in all competitions.
The Brazilian sensation has proven his worth in the final third by averaging 3.26 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 39.1% of his attempts on target (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, Man City would have to make a big offer if they are serious about recruiting Rodrygo this year.

Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Move In For Rodrygo?
Rodrygo is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The Brazilian talent is primarily a right-winger but can also operate as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if needed. Rodrygo can be a consistent performer at the highest level when he is playing regularly on the pitch. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League.
We can expect Rodrygo to add more quality and depth to Man City boss Pep Guardiola’s attack. He is more than capable of nailing down a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming years.
