Everton Face Massive Transfer Roadblock As Former Teammate Sabotages Priority Deal: Should Moyes Walk Away Now?

Everton’s hopes of signing Juanlu Sanchez from Sevilla have run into a major, unexpected problem. The issue involves his old teammate, Loïc Badé. According to a report from Vamos Mi Sevilla, the Spanish club are desperate to make a big sale before June 30 to fix their finances.

Everton suffer setbacks in the chase for Juanlu Sanchez

So, Sevilla’s bosses are looking at Juanlu as a top choice to sell off. The defender turned down Napoli last summer to stay in Spain, but he has since changed his mind and is now looking for a move to kickstart his career. Everton are still very interested, but Bayer Leverkusen have a clear lead that could ruin the Toffees’ plans.

Leverkusen recently signed Badé from Sevilla. His great form in Germany has convinced the club to look back at his old team for more talent. Vamos Mi Sevilla suggests that Badé is basically acting as an unofficial scout for his new team.

He knows exactly what Juanlu can do and is telling him to move to Germany. On top of that, Badé still feels bitter about the Premier League after a nightmare loan at Nottingham Forest, where he barely played.

He might tell Juanlu to avoid England entirely, which gives Leverkusen a massive advantage. Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Everton compete with Burnley for Vitinho.

What’s the alternative for the Toffees?

David Moyes and the Everton recruitment team have to figure out how serious this threat really is. If Badé convinces Juanlu that Germany is a better place to develop than the physical Premier League, Everton will be left disappointed.

The Toffees clearly need help in defence; however, it’s a big risk to chase a player who is getting negative reviews about English football from a trusted friend. The club should probably keep talking to Juanlu’s camp, but at the same time, they need to start looking harder at other right-backs.

Putting all their eggs in one basket with a player in this situation looks like bad planning. Everton shouldn’t get dragged into a bidding war for someone who has doubts. Instead, they need to sell the idea of playing at Goodison Park, perhaps by pointing out how well other Spanish players have done in the league.

If Juanlu trusts Badé’s word over everything else, Everton must walk away and spend their money elsewhere. They have to fix the squad before the window shuts. Chasing a player who doesn’t want to be there helps nobody; Everton need people who are ready to fight for the shirt right now.
