Arsenal Are Among The Clubs Hoping To Land This Bundesliga Winger: Good Choice For Arteta?

In a recent report, journalist Christian Falk claimed that Arsenal are among the clubs hoping to land Red Bull Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. It has been mentioned that the Gunners would have to compete with Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to land the Ivory Coast wide player this year.

Diomande’s Impressive Form In German Football

The 19-year-old is having a productive campaign at the German club as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. Diomande has scored eight goals and grabbed six assists in 20 matches for Red Bull Leipzig this season across all competitions.

The Ivory Coast talent has been a decent contributor on the left flank and deserves credit for averaging 2.05 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has kept 55.6% of his attempts on target (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Bundesliga club will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Gunners to snap him up on the cheap this year.

Will Diomande Be A Good Choice For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Diomande is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to orchestrate some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.

The Ivory Coast sensation can even shoot the ball with power from long range. Diomande has added a lot of goals and assists to his game this season. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to bring him on board this year.

We can expect Diomande to add more quality and depth to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s attack. He is good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at the Emirates Stadium in the coming years.

At 19, the future looks quite promising for Diomande as long as he continues to improve with each season. Therefore, he would be an excellent choice for the Gunners to consider this year. However, Arteta has to give him some time to adjust to life in England before he can get the best out of the player.
