Acheampong, Fofana And Hato To Start | 4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup Vs Charlton

Chelsea will face off against Charlton Athletic at the Valley on Saturday as they look to earn a good result in the FA Cup. The Blues suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Fulham recently, so they would be keen on bouncing back by securing a win this weekend.

The West London club will set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a lot of changes to their first team for this game. Josh Acheampong, Wesley Fofana and Jorrel Hato could all play from the start of this contest.

Defence

Filip Jorgensen will function in between the sticks for Chelsea as he looks to keep a clean sheet away from home. Wesley Fofana will play alongside Josh Acheampong at the heart of the Chelsea backline as they look to keep things solid on the defensive end of the field.

Malo Gusto will fill in as the right-back, while Jorrel Hato hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will be instructed to go forward and express themselves inside the Charlton half.

Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench. However, Marc Cucurella will miss this game due to suspension.

Midfield

Enzo Fernandez and Reece James will anchor the midfield for the Blues as they look to win the 50-50 battles in the middle of the park.

The gifted trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Cole Palmer and Estevao will operate just ahead of them as part of the Chelsea attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the London giants are to earn a convincing win this weekend.

Moises Caicedo and Jamie Gittens will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second half if needed.

Attack

Joao Pedro will spearhead Chelsea’s attack up top. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet and find some form for the Blues this Saturday.

Liam Delap will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if Chelsea are in need of a goal by then.
