In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid have set their sights on Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Portugal international next year.
Fernandes’ Impressive Form In English Football
Fernandes is having an impressive campaign at the Mancunian club as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 31-year-old has scored five goals and earned seven assists in 18 matches for Man United this season across multiple competitions.
The Portuguese talent has proven his worth in the opponent’s half by averaging 2.56 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has kept 23.8% of his attempts on target. Fernandes has even distributed possession relatively well after completing 78.8% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Old Trafford will expire in the summer of 2027 which could open the door for Real Madrid to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Is Fernandes A Good Option For Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso?
Fernandes can strike the ball with power from long range and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from midfield.
The Portuguese international mainly functions as a central midfielder but can also serve as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can replicate his good form in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to sign him next year.
We can expect Fernandes to bring more quality and depth to Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield. He is more than capable of securing a regular starting place at the Madrid club in the coming years.
At 31, Fernandes has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a good option for the Madrid giants to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Alonso has to give him some time to adjust to life in the Spanish capital before he can get the best out of the experienced playmaker.
