In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester United have set their sights on Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde. It has been claimed that the Red Devils are showing interest in bringing the Uruguay international to Old Trafford next year.
Valverde’s Impressive Form In La Liga
The 27-year-old has enjoyed a good run of form at the Madrid club this season as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them in La Liga. Valverde has participated in 18 matches for Los Blancos in this campaign so far, picking up four assists in the process across various competitions.
The Uruguayan talent has protected his backline well and deserves a ton of credit for making 22 tackles, 11 blocks, 11 interceptions and 23 clearances in La Liga. He has even distributed possession accurately from midfield after completing 89.3% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will expire in the summer of 2029. Hence, it won’t be easy for Man United to snap him up on the cheap next year.

Will Valverde Be A Dream Option For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?
Valverde is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure possession back for his side at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
The Uruguay international is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as a right-sided wide player or as a right-back if needed. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the high intensity of the Premier League if Man United manage to bring him on board in 2026.
Valverde would undoubtedly add a lot of quality to Ruben Amorim’s midfield department. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club.
At 27, Valverde is playing in his prime and has got the winning mindset to be a success story at Old Trafford. Thus, it is a no-brainer for Amorim to go all out to snap him up as he would be a dream option for them next year.
