Manchester City Are Eyeing A Move For This Bournemouth Winger: Good Choice For Pep?

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Manchester City are eyeing a move for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. O’Rourke said,

“Yeah, well look, right now Semenyo is probably going to be the most talked about player in the January window.

“Liverpool are the front runners for him. Obviously the links between Richard Hughes, ex-Bournemouth, he signed him when he was in charge at Bournemouth, signing him from Bristol City.

“Man City now are also weighing up a move to trigger that release clause as well for around £65million in January, so they’re looking to add more firepower to their team as well.

“Arsenal are admirers, and talking of long-term admirers, Manchester United have also showed an interest in Semenyo as well.

“So as I said, it’s going to be probably one of the transfers to watch for in January.”

Semenyo’s Impressive Record In The Premier League

Semenyo is having an impressive campaign at the English club as he has put in a run of eye-catching displays for them in the Premier League. The 25-year-old has scored six goals and grabbed three assists in 14 matches for the Cherries this season across all competitions.

The Ghanaian talent’s current deal at the Vitality Stadium will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Man City to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.

Will Semenyo Be A Good Choice For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?

Semenyo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. He can strike the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the wide areas.

The Ghana international is primarily a right-winger but can also function as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if asked to do so.

Semenyo is already familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man City. We can expect him to add more quality and depth to Pep Guardiola’s attack.

At 25, Semenyo has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him an excellent choice for Man City to consider this January or at the end of this campaign.
