Chelsea Are Set To Rival Barcelona For This Gifted Talent: One For The Future?

In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Chelsea are set to rival Barcelona for River Plate talent Ian Subiabre. It has been stated that the Blues are eyeing a move to bring the Argentine wide player to Stamford Bridge next year.

Subiabre’s Impressive Rise In Argentine Football

Subiabre has come through the youth ranks of River Plate and has done well to establish himself as an important member of their senior team. The Argentine whizkid has already made 22 senior appearances for his current employers so far, scoring two goals and grabbing one assist in various competitions.

The 18-year-old is currently among the best young wingers in South American football. Therefore, Chelsea would do well to lure him away from River Plate next year.

His current contract at the Argentine club will expire at the end of next year, which could give Chelsea a chance to sign him on the cheap this January or at the end of this campaign.

Chelsea Are Set To Rival Barcelona For Subiabre: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Subiabre is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can strike the ball with power from long range.

The Argentine talent is primarily a right-winger but can also serve as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if told to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to bring him on board next year.

Subiabre would no doubt enhance the quality of Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca’s attack in the long run. He has what it takes to serve as a decent, rotational piece in the West London club’s squad.

At 18, Subiabre has got the potential to be a future star in the Premier League. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Maresca should focus on getting him on board next year.
