Arsenal Are Among The Clubs Hoping To Recruit This Real Madrid Prospect: One For The Future?

In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Arsenal are among the clubs hoping to recruit Real Madrid prospect Víctor Valdepeñas. It has been stated that the Gunners would face competition from Borussia Dortmund and Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the race to land the gifted full-back next year.

Valdepenas’ Impressive Rise In Spanish Football

Valdepenas has come through the youth ranks of the Madrid club and deserves credit for breaking into their first XI last weekend. The 19-year-old has made one senior appearance for Los Blancos so far in La Liga.

The Spanish defender is currently among the best young full-backs in European football. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Gunners are showing interest in recruiting him next year.

His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will run out in the summer of 2029. Thus, it won’t be easy for Arsenal to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.

Arsenal Are Among The Clubs Hoping To Recruit Valdepenas: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Valdepenas is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive.

The Spanish prospect is a good dribbler with the ball as well. Standing at 1.88m, he is a strong presence in the air as well. Valdepenas is primarily a centre-back but can also play as a left-back if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.

Valdepenas would no doubt enhance the quality of Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He has what it takes to serve as a good, rotational piece in the Madrid club’s squad.

At 19, Valdepenas has got the potential to be a future star in English football. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long run, so Arteta should focus on stepping up his efforts to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Arteta has to give him some time to settle into life in North London.
