West Ham are in the news as the London club considers a move that could restructure their attacking options. According to a report from Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Nuno Espirito Santo wants Adama Traoré at the London Stadium, and the manager believes the Fulham winger can add sharpness, directness, and energy to a frontline that needs more bite. The interest feels familiar because Nuno worked closely with Traoré during their spell together at Wolves, and he still rates the Spaniard’s influence in wide areas.
West Ham want Adama Traoré
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old winger’s journey since leaving Molineux has taken a few turns. He spent a short period on loan at Barcelona before returning to Wolves, only for his time there to drift without momentum.
Eventually, the Spaniard moved to Fulham on a free transfer in the summer of 2023. Even though he has not produced consistent standout moments in West London, he has stayed involved in Marco Silva’s squad. However, with his contract ending in a few months and no extension in sight, Traoré’s future points elsewhere, which gives West Ham a real opening.
While speaking about a potential reunion of the duo, O’Rourke said, “I’m sure it’s something that Nuno would probably like to explore. Traore probably enjoyed his best spell of form under Nuno at Wolves between 2018 and 2021. I think there’s admiration from both.

“So, potentially there could be interest in a reunion between the pair at West Ham. We know West Ham will probably be busy in the January market to try and improve their squad. They do lack a bit of pace on that side as well. So Traore would definitely go a long way to solving that as well, and he is coming to the end of his contract at the end of the season.”
Meanwhile, other reports have also revealed that the Hammers are keeping an eye on the situation of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Why do the Hammers want him?
As O’Rourke explained, Nuno rates Traoré highly because the winger delivered his most confident run of form under the Portuguese manager between 2018 and 2021. Their relationship remains strong, and both men would welcome another spell working together. West Ham, meanwhile, need pace on the flanks, and Traoré gives them that without costing a heavy fee.
Furthermore, the club’s financial position means they may need to move players out before completing the deal. Niclas Füllkrug has struggled to find rhythm since arriving in England, and shifting him could free up enough room to bring Traoré in during January.
West Ham might believe that the Fulham winger’s directness, physical presence, and contract situation make him a strong candidate as they push to sharpen their attack for the second half of the season.
