West Ham United are at a key stage of the season, and it looks like they could act quickly in the winter transfer window. Ekrem Konur claims AC Milan might let striker Santiago Gimenez depart in January, with as many as five clubs pursuing him.
West Ham feature in that list, and their interest comes at a time when Nuno Espirito Santo needs an effective centre-forward to lift the Hammers from their current state. At present, both senior strikers have failed to provide reliable output.
West Ham are interested in Santiago Gimenez
Callum Wilson has started to grow into his role, but there are still gaps. Meanwhile, Niclas Fullkrug faces an uncertain future, with speculation that he could move on, possibly even to Milan. The situation intensifies as the Rossoneri have already started lining up potential replacements.

Gimenez arrived from Feyenoord only last year, but he has endured a difficult spell at San Siro. Despite earning eight league starts, the 24-year-old has yet to find the net. Reports suggest Massimiliano Allegri considers the striker unsuitable for his setup. As a result, Milan may quickly approve an exit.
Other clubs such as Sunderland, Real Betis, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Brentford monitor developments, while Milan are assessing players such as Dominic Solanke and Gonzalo Garcia to fill the void.
Will he be a good signing for West Ham?
Put simply, Gimenez brings physicality and runs willingly behind defensive lines, but his current record does not inspire much confidence. West Ham need a forward who delivers consistency in high-pressure situations, and his recent struggles suggest he may take time to settle.
Although the Mexican international’s movement and willingness to press could suit Nuno Espirito Santo’s system, there are doubts about whether he has the temperament to handle Premier League intensity. The Hammers cannot take another striker going missing when it matters, especially if Fullkrug departs. They should focus on someone proven in front of the goal, even if Gimenez brings potential rather than guarantees.
