Real Madrid Want To Re-Sign This Serie A Playmaker This January: Should Alonso Move In For Him?

In a recent report, Defensa Central claimed that Real Madrid want to re-sign Como playmaker Nico Paz this January. It is understood that Los Blancos are eager to bring the Argentine talent back to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in this winter transfer window.

Paz’s Impressive Form In Italian Football

Paz has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Italian club this season after he produced a run of impressive displays for them in Serie A. The Argentine attacker has been involved in 12 matches for Como this season, scoring four times and securing four assists in the process on all fronts.

The 21-year-old has proven his worth in the final third by averaging 3.41 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has kept 37.8% of his attempts on target. Paz has also been accurate with his ball distribution after completing 77.1% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Los Blancos to sign him on the cheap next year.

Should Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso Move In For Paz?

Paz is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field.

The Argentine talent has also added a lot of goals and assists to his game. He already knows Real Madrid well from his time as a youth player with them and won’t take much time to adjust to life in Spain.

Paz would no doubt add more firepower to Los Blancos boss Xabi Alonso’s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the La Liga club in the coming years.

At 21, Paz has the potential to be a future star in European football and could help Los Blancos compete for some major honours in the future. Therefore, it makes sense for Alonso to move in for him this winter or at the end of this campaign.
