In a recent report, Defensa Central claimed that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber. It is believed that Los Blancos are hoping to sign the Dutch talent on a free transfer at the end of this campaign.
Timber’s Impressive Form In Dutch Football
Timber has enjoyed a solid campaign at the Rotterdam-based club as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them in the Dutch Eredivisie. The 24-year-old scored two goals and earned one assist in 14 matches for Feyenoord this season across all fronts.
The Dutch talent has been a decent performer when defending inside his half and has done well to make 18 tackles, ten blocks, nine interceptions and 12 clearances in the Dutch Eredivisie. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from midfield after completing 83.2% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Dutch club will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for Los Blancos to sign him on a free transfer next summer.

What Will Timber Bring To Real Madrid?
Timber is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure possession back for his side in the middle of the park. He usually clears the danger when needed and is a good passer of the ball as well.
The Dutch sensation can even contribute by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. Timber is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a holding midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to land him in 2026.
We can expect Timber to bring more quality and depth to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s midfield. He is good enough to compete for regular first-team football at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
At 24, Timber has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for Los Blancos to consider next summer. He would even help Real Madrid compete across all competitions in the coming years.
