Manchester United Have Set Their Sights On This Valencia Midfielder: Should Amorim Move In For Him?

In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Manchester United have set their sights on Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the Spanish talent to Old Trafford this January.

Guerra’s Impressive Form In La Liga

Guerra has enjoyed a solid campaign at the Spanish club so far as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 22-year-old has picked up two assists in 13 appearances for Valencia this season across various competitions.

The Spanish midfielder has anchored the midfield with conviction and deserves credit for making eight tackles, seven blocks, eight interceptions and ten clearances in La Liga. He has even distributed the ball accurately from midfield, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 76.4% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com).

Guerra’s current contract at Valencia will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, it won’t be easy for Man United to get a deal done for him on the cheap in this winter transfer period.

Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Move In For Guerra?

Guerra is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his side inside his half. He usually clears the danger when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.

The Spanish sensation can even contribute by securing the odd assist for his team. Standing at 1.87m, Guerra is a strong presence in the air as well. However, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to sign him next year.

We can expect Guerra to bring more quality and depth to Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at Old Trafford.

At 22, Guerra has got the ceiling to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, it makes sense for Amorim to move in for him this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Man United has to give Guerra some time to adjust to life in England.
