In a recent interview with TEAMtalk, journalist Dean Jones claimed that Manchester City could move in for Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento. Jones said,
“The interesting thing about Livramento is he’s in a great situation and can’t really lose.
“He’s happy at Newcastle, he is in a good position, he wants to push the limits of a new contract. But equally he knows he could secure a big transfer if he really wanted it.
“City have respect for his situation and have had to wait for him to decide what he does next. If he looks to leave, they are right there and will snap him up.
“My expectation is that his family listen carefully to what Newcastle have to say about his future and what they are planning as a club.
“If it all seems suitable then he may well sign a new deal, but he has been quite calm about the whole situation from what I understand.”
Livramento’s Impressive Form In The Premier League
Livramento has enjoyed a solid campaign at the Tyneside club as he has put in a series of impressive performances for them in the Premier League. The 23-year-old has made seven appearances for Newcastle this season, securing one assist in the process across all competitions.
The English talent has been a decent contributor on the right side of Eddie Howe’s defence and has done well to make eight tackles, two blocks, four interceptions and 15 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed possession accurately after completing 81% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).

Will Livramento Be A Good Fit For Manchester City?
Livramento is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
The English sensation can even chip in by picking up his fair share of assists. He is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a left-back if asked to do so. Livramento already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man City.
We can expect Livramento to add more quality and depth to Pep Guardiola’s defence. He has what it takes to nail down a regular starting spot at the Mancunian club in the coming years.
At 23, Livramento has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a great fit for Man City‘s needs this January or next summer.
