In a recent report, Defensa Central stated that Manchester City are keeping a keen eye on Real Madrid star Arda Guler. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian giants are eyeing a move to bring the Turkish talent to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Guler’s Decent Run Of Form In La Liga
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a good run of form at the Madrid club as he has put in a string of promising performances for them in the final third. Guler has scored three goals and earned six assists in 16 matches for Los Blancos this season across multiple fronts.
The Turkish playmaker has managed to shine at times for Real Madrid in the opponent’s half and deserves credit for averaging 2.52 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 40.9% of his shots on target. Guler has also been careful when interchanging possession with his teammates after completing 85.5% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).
Guler’s current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Man City to snap him up on a cut-price deal next year.

What Will Guler Bring To Manchester City?
Guler is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few penetrative runs out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can strike the ball with power from long range.
The Turkish sensation has added a handful of goals and assists to his game this season. Guler mainly functions in the number ten position but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if required. However, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League.
Guler would no doubt bring more quality to Man City head coach Pep Guardiola’s attack. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium.
At 20, Guler will only get better with each season. Therefore, Guardiola should focus on going all out to bring him on board this winter or at the end of this campaign.
