Manchester City entertained Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Mancunian giants made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 29th minute thanks to Erling Haaland’s effort. Nico Gonzalez doubled his team’s advantage with a deflected strike in the latter stages of the first half as Man City went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.
Jeremy Doku scored his side’s third goal with a great strike in the 63rd minute. Pep Guardiola’s men ended up cruising to an impressive 3-0 win at the Etihad.

Gvardiol cleared the danger when needed and was accurate with his passing.

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field and ended the game with an assist to his name.
CM: Bernardo Silva – 7/10
Silva managed to shine with his performance at the centre of the park and did well to secure an assist.
CM: Nico Gonzalez – 8.5/10
He anchored the midfield well and managed to score with a deflected strike in the dying embers of the first half.
CM: Phil Foden – 7/10
Foden caught the eye at times, but there was no goal for him.
RW: Rayan Cherki – 6.5/10
He couldn’t take his chance in the first half and was replaced early in the second half.
ST: Erling Haaland – 7.5/10
Haaland was a constant menace in the final third and did well to score the opener in the 29th minute. However, he missed a penalty early in the game.
LW: Jeremy Doku – 9.5/10
Doku caused all sorts of headaches for the Liverpool defenders and scored a superb goal in the second half. He deserves the man of the match award.
