Barcelona Are Eyeing A Move For This Talented Striker: What Will He Add To Flick’s Side?

In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Barcelona are eyeing a move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen. It has been claimed that the Catalan club are hoping to acquire the services of the Nigerian talent next year.

Osimhen’s Excellent Form In Turkish Football

Osimhen is having a productive campaign at the Turkish club as he has already put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 26-year-old has scored nine goals in 12 matches for Galatasaray this season across all fronts.

The Nigerian talent has proven his worth in the final third and deserves credit for averaging 4.33 shots per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig. He has kept 53.6% of his attempts on target (stats via fbref.com).

Osimhen is under contract at Galatasaray until the summer of 2029. Hence, it won’t be easy for Barcelona to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.

What Will Osimhen Add To Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick’s Team?

Osimhen excels at finding some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He can create the odd chance for his teammates up top and is a strong runner with the ball.

The Nigerian international has proven himself to be a consistent goal-scorer at the highest level. Standing at 1.85m, Osimhen is a strong presence in the air as well, but needs to find a way to improve his link-up play in the final third. Only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in La Liga if Barca manage to get a deal done for him next year.

We can expect Osimhen to add more quality and depth to Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s attack. He has what it takes to nail down a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp. Furthermore, the Nigerian striker would be an ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski at the Catalan club.

At 26, Osimhen has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great choice for Barcelona to pursue this winter or at the end of this campaign. However, Flick has to give him some time to settle into life at the La Liga club before he can unlock the best out of the talented forward.
