In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Barcelona are eyeing a move for Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz. It has been stated that the Catalan club are showing interest in recruiting the Colombian defender next year.
Munoz’s Impressive Form In English Football
Munoz has enjoyed a good run of form at the London club as he has produced a series of impressive displays on the right side of their defence. The 29-year-old has registered two goals and secured two assists in 19 matches for the Eagles this season across all competitions.
The Colombian talent has performed his defensive duties well and deserves credit for making 29 tackles, 13 blocks, 14 interceptions and 43 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 73.1% in league football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the London club will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, it won’t be easy for Barcelona to get a deal done for Munoz on the cheap next year.

Will Munoz Be A Good Fit For Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick?
Munoz is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and can create some inviting chances for his teammates from the right flank.
The Colombia international is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a centre-back if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Barcelona manage to bring him on board next year.
We can expect Munoz to add more quality and depth to Barca boss Hansi Flick’s defence. He is more than capable of earning a regular first-team spot at the Catalan club in the coming years.
At 29, Munoz is playing in his prime, which makes him a decent fit for Barcelona‘s needs in the short term. Plus, he could help the Catalan giants compete for some major honours over the next few years. Therefore, Alonso should focus on going all out to snap him up this January or at the end of this campaign.
