Barcelona Are Eager To Recruit This Crystal Palace Star: What Will He Bring To The Nou Camp?

In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo stated that Barcelona are eager to recruit Crystal Palace star Daniel Munoz. It has been claimed that the Catalan club would have to compete with Chelsea and Manchester City in the race to land the Colombian talent next year.

Munoz’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Munoz has been a reliable performer for the Eagles during this campaign as he has put in a series of impressive performances on the right side of Oliver Glasner’s defence. The Colombian talent has featured in 19 matches for Crystal Palace this season, scoring two goals and earning two assists in multiple competitions.

The 29-year-old has been a good contributor on the right flank and deserves credit for making 29 tackles, 13 blocks, 14 interceptions and 43 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass success rate of 73.1% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Selhurst Park will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Barcelona to sign him on the cheap next year.

What Will Munoz Bring To Barcelona?

Munoz is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger quickly to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when required and is a strong runner with the ball at his feet.

The Colombian sensation can strike the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to create some promising chances for others around him from the right flank. He is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a centre-back if told to do so by his manager.

We can expect Munoz to bring more quality to Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s defence. He has what it takes to earn a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp.

At 29, Munoz is playing in his prime, which makes him a worthy target for the Catalan giants to consider this January or at the end of this season. However, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good form in La Liga. Still, Flick would be wise to go all out to bring the Colombian full-back to the Nou Camp next year.
