In a recent report, Defensa Central stated that Real Madrid have been offered a chance to recruit Roma full-back Zeki Celik next year. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to recruit the Turkish defender.
Celik’s Impressive Form In Serie A This Season
Celik has made a decent start to this campaign as he has produced a handful of impressive displays for the Italian club in Serie A. The Turkish talent has participated in ten matches for AS Roma this season, securing one assist in multiple competitions.
The 28-year-old has performed his defensive duties well and has done well to make seven tackles, one block, six interceptions and 18 clearances in Serie A. He has even distributed possession accurately from the right flank based on his pass completion rate of 77.5% in the Italian top flight (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Italian club will run out at the end of this campaign. Hence, Real Madrid could potentially snap him up on a free transfer next summer.

Should Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso Get Celik On Board?
Celik is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when required and is a tidy passer of the ball.
The Turkish sensation can even create the odd chance for his teammates up top. He is primarily a right-back but can also play as a centre-back or as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so.
We can expect Celik to enhance the quality of Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence. He is more than capable of serving as a useful presence in the Madrid club’s squad. However, only time will tell whether the Turkish talent can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to land him next year.
At 28, Celik is playing in his prime, which makes him a decent choice for the Madrid giants to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign. All in all, Alonso should focus on going all out to get him on board in 2026.
