In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Real Madrid have identified Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson as a target. It is understood that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the English sensation to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Anderson’s Impressive Form In English Football This Season
Anderson has made a solid start to this campaign after he put in a series of impressive displays for the Midlands club at the centre of the park. The 22-year-old has made 11 appearances for Nottingham this season, securing one assist in multiple competitions.
The English talent has anchored the midfield well as he has made 22 tackles, 11 blocks, seven interceptions and eight clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball accurately from midfield, based on his pass success rate of 85.3% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the City Ground will expire in the summer of 2029. Thus, it won’t be easy for Real Madrid to sign him on the cheap next year.

Should Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso Go For Anderson?
Anderson is a tough-tackling midfielder who can read the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the front foot and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
The English talent can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate in the number ten position or as a left-winger if asked to do so.
We can expect Anderson to add more energy and dynamism to Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Madrid club in the coming years.
At 22, the future looks quite bright for Anderson as long as he continues to improve with each season. Therefore, it makes sense for Alonso to go for a midfielder of his potential this January or at the end of this campaign. However, the jury is still out on whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to snap him up next year.
