Manchester United Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This Bournemouth Star: Dream Signing For Amorim?

In a recent report, talkSPORT stated that Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo. It has been claimed that the Red Devils would have to rival Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in the race to acquire the services of the talented winger next year.

Semenyo’s Excellent Numbers In The Premier League This Season

Semenyo has made a terrific start to this Premier League campaign after he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The Ghanaian wide player has banged in six goals and grabbed three assists in eight appearances for the Cherries this season across various competitions.

The 25-year-old has proven his worth in the opponent’s half by averaging 2.29 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has kept 50% of his attempts on target. However, Semenyo has to be more careful when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after making 67.1% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).

Semenyo is under contract at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2030. Hence, it won’t be easy for Man United to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.

Is Semenyo A Dream Signing For Manchester United?

Semenyo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field. He can strike the ball with venom from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the wide areas.

The London-born talent is primarily a right-winger but can also operate as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if told to do so. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.

We can expect Semenyo to add a lot of quality to Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s frontline. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting spot at Old Trafford.

At 25, Semenyo has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a dream signing for the Red Devils to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign.
