Sunderland will face off against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on September 13, 2025, which will be their fourth match of the season in the Premier League. Sunderland have won two of the three matches that they have played so far in the League. Palace are also going well as they have won one match and drawn two out of the three matches that they have played so far in the season.
There are several injury concerns for Sunderland going into this game, especially in the backline. Daniel Ballard, Luke O’Nien, and Aji Aleseare will be missing this game due to injuries. Leo Hjelde and Romaine Mundle will also miss action until mid-October. However, Regis Le Bris’ side will still try to continue their good run of form against Palace away from home.
Sunderland Predicted 4-3-3 Starting Lineup Against Crystal Palace:
Defence:
With so many injury issues in the backline, Sunderland will likely continue with a familiar backline that they have fielded in recent games. Robin Roefs, the club’s summer signing, will probably feature in goal. Le Bris will probably start Lutsharel Geertruida, who is on loan from RB Leipzig, at the right-back position. Nordi Mukiele, signed from Paris Saint-Germain, will likely partner with Omar Alderete in the centre-back positions. New signing from Getafe, Alederete will probably get the start in the left-back position after impressing everyone in the first few matches.
Midfield:

Le Bris will likely start the same three midfielders as we have seen in Sunderland’s recent games. Granit Xhaka, who arrived from Bayer Leverkusen, will play in the defensive midfielder role. Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki will accompany the former Arsenal star in the midfield. Diarra, a club-record signing, and Sadiki, who joined from Union SG, are both box-to-box midfielders. They will be contributing to both attack and defence.
Attack:
The attacking trident is where Sunderland have the most options, even after accounting for injuries to Romaine Mundle. Chemsdine Talbi, a promising winger who arrived from Club Brugge, is likely to start on the right flank. Simon Adingra, another summer signing from Brighton, is the expected starter on the left.
Upfront, Eliezer Mayenda has started all league games so far and will probably lead the line. Wilson Isidor, who scored as a substitute in both home wins, and deadline-day signing Brian Brobbey, from Ajax, will provide strong competition and options off the bench. Sunderland’s attack appears to be their strongest area. They boast plenty of quality and depth.
