Chelsea faced off against Lincoln City at the LNER Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win on the road in the EFL Cup. The Blues made a dominant start to the game but conceded the opening goal in the 42nd minute when Rob Street got his name on the scoresheet. Enzo Maresca’s team went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
The West London club made a terrific start to the second half as they scored the equaliser in the 48th minute thanks to Tyrique George’s effort. Facundo Buonanotte completed the turnaround for Chelsea just two minutes later when he got his name on the scoresheet. The Blues ended up securing a hard-fought 2-1 win away from home.

Gusto performed his defensive duties well and was a threat going forward.

Chalobah was a rock at the back and dealt with the danger when needed.

CM: Enzo Fernandez – 5.5/10
Fernandez made a poor error at the back and was substituted in the 69th minute.
CM: Andrey Santos – 7/10
He anchored the midfield well but offered very little in the final third.
RW: Jamie Gittens – 6.5/10
Gittens caught the eye at times, but there was no goal for him.
CAM: Facundo Buonanotte – 7.5/10
He was a real menace in the opposition half and managed to give his team the lead in the 50th minute.
LW: Alejandro Garnacho – 6.5/10
Garnacho managed to shine at times but failed to register a goal.

He was a constant threat up top and ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.
