Manchester United welcomed Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier this evening as they focused on earning a good result at home to kick off their Premier League campaign. The Red Devils made a slow start to the contest and conceded a cheap goal from a corner in the 13th minute when Riccardo Calafiori found the back of the net from close range. Man United went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Ruben Amorim’s men tried their best to find the equaliser in the second half but ended up suffering a tough 1-0 loss in front of their home supporters.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player performed during the clash against the Gunners.
GK: Altay Bayindir – 5.5/10
He made a couple of solid saves at the back but should have done better to prevent Calafiori’s goal.
CB: Leny Yoro – 7/10
Yoro gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was a strong presence in the air.
CB: Matthijs de Ligt – 7/10
He did his fair share of defending inside his half and was a commanding presence at the back.
CB: Luke Shaw – 6.5/10
Shaw got stuck in with a few solid tackles and made one good chance going forward.

RM: Diogo Dalot – 6/10
He came back to defend when he could, but was replaced early in the second half.
CM: Casemiro – 6.5/10
Casemiro got stuck in with a few solid tackles and made one key chance going forward.
CM: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
He was a constant menace in the final third, but there was no goal for him.
LM: Patrick Dorgu – 7/10
Dorgu was unfortunate to hit the post with his attempt, but was quiet otherwise.
RAM: Bryan Mbeumo – 6.5/10
He caused a few headaches for the Arsenal defenders but lacked the cutting edge in the final third.
LAM: Matheus Cunha – 7/10
Cunha made a few driving runs with the ball but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.
ST: Mason Mount – 6/10
He made two good chances in the final third but never looked like he would score.
Substitutes:
RM: Amad Diallo – 7/10
Diallo added more pace to Amorim’s midfield.
ST: Benjamin Sesko – 6/10
He set up a couple of decent chances for others around him.
CM: Manuel Ugarte – 6/10
Ugarte made one good opportunity in the final third.
