According to Fichajes, Manchester City are highly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Joao Neves next summer. However, the Premier League club will face stiff competition from Real Madrid and a few other clubs.
João Neves is performing well
João Neves came through Benfica and joined PSG in the summer of 2024. In a short time, he has managed to impress everyone and establish a position for himself. His continuous solid performances have attracted eyeballs from multiple clubs.

Neves has already scored four goals in 36 games apart from providing nine assists. He is averaging 2.5 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, and 0.7 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).
The Portuguese midfielder is an intelligent and cool-minded player. He has incredible defensive traits as he mostly plays in a deep-lying role. However, he is also effective going forward, contributing to goal creation directly.
Pep Guardiola looking for more signings
Manchester City are battling hard to secure a position in the top four on the Premier League points table. With Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan likely to depart in the summer, Pep Guardiola is expected to have more signing to fill the positions.
Though the Citizens signed Nico Gonzalez in the winter window and Rodri will return, they want to go after Joao Neves. The Portuguese midfielder is an exciting talent and he is only going to get better and better with more experience.
However, signing the 20-year-old will be tough to execute as PSG wouldn’t want to sell their performing asset so easily. Even if they change their mind, they will charge a hefty amount for their €60 million signing. Apart from Neves, the Premier League club are also showing interest in Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga.
