After a thumping victory over Manchester City in the Premier League, Aston Villa faced a devastating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United. Their next game is scheduled against Brighton in the league at home this Monday night.
The Villans will be hoping to return to winnings ways by overpowering the visitors. They are ninth on the points table, which means they have a lot of work to do if they wish to secure a European competition berth for next season.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup vs Brighton
Defence
Emi Martinez didn’t have his best of nights against the Magpies and he will look to put on a better performance this week. Matty Cash isn’t available for this game as he picked up a red card in the previous game. His position is expected to be filled by Ezri Konsa.
As Konsa moves to the right full-back position, Unai Emery is likely to bring Diego Carlos to fill the vacant space at the heart of the defence. The latter will have the services of Pau Torres alongside him. Lucas Digne is an undisputed choice for the left-back role.
Midfield
Amadou Onana tried his best but it wasn’t enough for his side while Boubacar Kamara had a below-par game. Both players continue to form the holding midfield pair in the middle of the park.
Attack
John McGinn is operating on the right wing with Morgan Rogers taking care of the left flank once again. Youri Tielemans continues to be deployed as an attacking midfielder on the field.
As Jhon Duran is suspended for this game, Ollie Watkins should be bought into the XI as the striker in the side.
The Villans have only three absentees for this fixture. While Matty Cash and Jhon Durán are suspended and Jacob Ramsey is injured and sidelined.
