Liverpool somehow managed to collect a point against Fulham despite being reduced to 10 men early in the game. Though they dropped two points, they still have a comfortable lead at the top of the Premier League points table.
The Reds will next lock horns with Southampton in the EFL Cup quarter-final this week. The former side would want to win the match to advance forward and also keep the good momentum going before facing Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup Vs Southampton
Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to come in place of Alisson Becker to operate between the sticks this week. Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold had a disastrous game and he would like to redeem himself in this fixture.
Though Arne Slot would’ve liked to rotate his men, multiple injuries in the defensive unit force him otherwise. Virgil van Dijk is likely to be deployed yet again but this time with Jarell Quansah.
Joe Gomez could be seen playing as the left-back as Andy Robertson is suspended.
Midfield
Both Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch are likely to make way for Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister in the middle of the park. Curtis Jones, however, continues to play as the attacking midfield in the starting lineup.
Attack
Mohamed Salah is expected to warm the bench as the manager needs to manage his workload. In his absence, Harvey Elliott should get the nod to provide services on the right wing.
While Diogo Jota makes it into the XI in place of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez might get the green light ahead of Cody Gakpo for the left flank position. Notably, Federico Chiesa made it into the squad but is unlikely to start this game. He should be getting some minutes if the game allows.
Kostas Tsimikas, Conor Bradley, and Ibrahima Konate are confirmed absentees.
