According to Fichajes, Premier League club Manchester City are interested in signing Barcelona attacker Dani Olmo and might have a good chance of acquiring his services in the January transfer window if the Spanish club fails to register the player.
Dani Olmo is doing well this season
Dani Olmo is a well-established name in the football world as he has done remarkable tasks at the international stage as well as at the club level. He arrived at Barcelona in the summer window this year just after lifting the Euro Cup with Spain.
Olmo is having a mixed campaign so far as he started at Barcelona on a strong note. But recent injuries have hit his form and his number has been affected. He has managed to score six goals and provide one assist in 15 outings so far.
The Spanish attacker is versatile enough to feature at different positions in the offensive front. He is technically sound, uses both feet and changes his direction really well. He can provide key passes, dribble as well as shoot from a distance.
The big problem for Barcelona
Barcelona brought Dani Olmo with great hopes after their attempt to lure away Nico Williams failed. They initially struggled to get him registered due to La Liga’s FFP rules. Reportedly, the club had to de-register injured players like Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo to create some space.
But now as the defenders are on the verge of their returns, the problem has emerged again. The Spanish side has to get the player registered before 1st January anyhow. If they fail to do so, the attacker will have no option but to leave as a free agent.
Sensing an opportunity, Manchester City are ready to advantage of the situation. They would love to have an experienced and versatile attacker like Olmo at their disposal. However, it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old is willing to move to Manchester City or not.
