First a win against Real Madrid and then a convincing display against arch-rivals Manchester City, Liverpool have nailed their difficult fixtures. They are atop the points table in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
The Reds have their next game scheduled against Nottingham Forest an away outfit in the domestic league this week. Arne Slot’s men would like to collect all three points and leave no room for competitors to catch them anytime soon.
4-2-3-1 Liverpool Predicted Lineup Vs Newcastle United
Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher didn’t have much to do against Manchester City. He will be aiming to keep another clean sheet in the Premier League this week. Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold marked his return and he should start again.
As the notable defenders are injured, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk should be at the heart of the defence. They were excellent on Sunday and will look to repeat the heroics. Andrew Robertson also did another to find himself as the left-back in the lineup.
Midfield
Arne Slot has no reason to alter anything in the middle of the park. The duo of Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch is expected to take onto the field.
However, Curtis Jones could be seen making his way into the XI as the advanced midfielder at the expense of Dominik Szoboszlai.
Attack
In-form Mohamed Salah is operating on the right wing with Cody Gakpo providing his services from the left-hand side. However, Darwin Nunez might be used as the striker this time instead of Luis Diaz.
Diogo Jota (abdominal), Federico Chiesa (fitness), Ibrahima Konate (knee), Conor Bradley (hamstring), Alisson Becker (hamstring) and Kostas Tsimikas (thigh) are all unlikely to be able to participate in this fixture.
