A 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium must have given Manchester United a lot of confidence and courage for the rest of the season. They will surely need that when they take onto the field to face Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup quarter-final.
It will be a tough fixture for the Red Devils as they will have to travel away for the fixture this week. Ruben Amorim’s men will be motivated to put on everything on line to overpower Spurs and head into the next round in the Cup.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
Andre Onana had a mixed game against the Citizens. He should be ready to operate between the sticks.
Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez are likely to continue in the three-man backline. However, Matthijs de Ligt might be rested in favour of Leny Yoro.
Midfield
Noussair Mazraoui is doubtful for this fixture as he sustained a knock. In his absence, Diogo Dalot will be shifted to the right-wing role. It means that the left-wing role could be up for grabs, which might see Tyrell Malacia starting.
Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo should walk into the starting XI to operate in the middle of the park with Manuel Ugarte going back on the bench.
Attack
Bruno Fernandes remains the attacking midfielder in the lineup with Amad Diallo deployed on the right flank.
Rasmus Hojlund failed to do enough for his side against Manchester City and his centre striking role might be handed over to Joshua Zirkzee.
Ruben Amorim will also have to decide whether he wants to recall Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho following their omissions.
Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans are confirmed absentees, while Mason Mount and Noussair Mazraoui will be assessed before the game.
