Newcastle United are preparing to host Premier League table-topper Liverpool at home next week. The former side are 11th on the points table with only 19 points to their name. Hence, they need to step up and deliver better results.
However, it will be tough for the Magpies to stop the ruthless Arne Slot’s side. With the support of the home crowd and some magical moments, they can certainly give a tough time to the visitors or even might produce a memorable night, who knows?
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup Vs Liverpool
Defence
Nick Pope did a fantastic job by blocking some tough shots to keep the scoreline tight and extract a draw. A similar sort of performance would be required from his end. Right-back Tino Livramento was decent but he can contribute more significantly.
No change at the heart of the defence as both Dan Burn and Fabian Schar keep their respective slots. However, the latter needs to be more accurate in his passing. Left-back Lewis Hall made some silly mistakes in dangerous areas but is unlikely to face any consequences.
Midfield
Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes are continuing in the middle of the park. On the flip side, Sean Longstaff could walk into the XI if Joe Willock fails to get the green light to start the game.
The midfield trio will have to work hard to overpower the Reds’ midfield press and quality.
Attack
Newcastle United are sweating over the fitness of Alexander Isak, who suffered a blow. He will be assessed before the game to know about his availability. If he fails to make it into the XI, Callum Wilson is likely to fill his spot.
Harvey Barnes might also get the nod over Joelinton on the left flank with Anthony Gordon operating on the other wing.
Sven Botman (knee), Jamaal Lascelles (knee) and Emil Krafth (shoulder) are all out.
