A boost for the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool as arch-rivals Manchester City drop three vital points. The Premier League champions faced a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth. The loss came ahead of their clash with Sporting CP in the Champions League.
The Citizens had multiple injuries in their squad, which somewhat affected their playing XI. Anyway, they are now second on the points table behind the Reds by two points.
Manchester City Players Rated In Loss Vs Bournemouth:
Ederson (GK) – 7/10
If not for him, the scoreline could’ve been even worse. He made multiple good saves to deny the Bournemouth attackers.
Kyle Walker (RB) – 3/10
An awful display from the City’s skipper as he was getting beaten easily. He didn’t do well in the defensive aspect as well as going higher on the pitch.
Manuel Akanji (CB) – 5/10
Apart from making a few passing mistakes, Akanji didn’t do anything wrong much.
Nathan Ake (CB) – 5/10
The centre-back was surely not at his best today and hence, he went off climbing the pitch in the 73rd minute.
Josko Gvardiol (LB) – 6/10
Did good enough including finding the back of the net to bring some ray of hope.
Mateo Kovacic (DM) – 5/10
Didn’t have a smooth game and failed to make an impact in the offensive play.
Ilkay Gundogan (CM) – 4/10
An underperforming display from the veteran. Though he picked up Gvardiol to build the goal, he didn’t have much impact on the game.
Bernardo Silva (CM) – 5/10
Seemed like Silva could’ve created something in the final third but that moment never came.
Phil Foden (RW) – 6/10
Foden was one of the best players on the field for City. He looked dangerous at times and even nearly created a goal. In the end, it wasn’t his day today.
Erling Haaland (CF) – 4/10
Haaland had a few difficult chances that he couldn’t bury. Apart from that, he wasn’t involved much in the game.
Matheus Nunes (LW) – 5/10
The winger finally had a great opportunity to prove himself but failed to deliver.
