Tottenham Hotspur bounced back stronger after the international break. They outclassed Manchester City at their own den by 4-0 in the Premier League. This thumping win must’ve given a lot of confidence and joy to Ange Postecoglou’s men.
Spurs have now shifted their focus towards Roma, with whom they lock horns in the Europa League this Friday. It will be a good battle to watch out for the fans. As the English giants are comfortable on the points table, they might fancy some rotations if required.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Roma
Defence
Guglielmo Vicario stood tall in the game against Manchester City. A similar sort of performance would be expected from him though Fraser Forster is also a possible starter. Pedro Porro could be rested for this clash and Archie Gray is the front-runner to fill the spot at the right-back.
Amid the injuries to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies are likely to be continued at the heart of the defence. Destiny Udogie should also see himself starting this game as the left full-back.
Midfield
Spurs can make multiple changes in the midfield unit. The likes of Pape Sarr, Yves Bissouma, and James Maddison are likely to be rested. Since Rodrigo Bentancur can’t participate in the domestic competition due to a ban, expect him to start in the Europa League.
To accompany him in the middle of the park, Lucas Bergvall might be called up.
Attack
While Dejan Kulusevski continues to operate on the right flank, Son Heung-min is likely to be rested. To fill his spot, Timo Werner should be the prime choice considering the injuries to Mikey Moore, Wilson Odobert and Richarlison.
Brennan Johnson is likely to operate in the central area with Dominic Solanke being the all-out striker in the lineup.
