In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Newcastle United have identified Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani as a target. It has been claimed that the Magpies are eyeing the France international as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak.
Kolo Muani’s Recent Form In French Football This Season
Kolo Muani has managed to put in a couple of impressive displays for PSG in the final third during this Ligue 1 campaign. The French talent has done well to score two goals in ten appearances for the Parisian outfit this season across multiple competitions.
The 25-year-old has seen most of his game time come off the bench which explains why he is only averaging 1.6 shots, 0.3 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1 football. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half after completing 79.3% of his attempted passes in the French first division (stats via whoscored).
Kolo Muani’s current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Magpies to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.
Is Kolo Muani A Decent Fit For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?
Kolo Muani is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can be a streaky goal-scorer in the final third and can create the odd chance for his teammates up top. Kolo Muani can even use his robust 1.87m frame to win a few aerial duels for his team.
The French talent can even make a few clever runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty area. However, he has to find a way to earn regular first-team football in the coming years.
Kolo Muani would add more firepower to Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe’s first XI. He is good enough to secure a regular first-team spot at St. James’ Park in the coming years.
At 25, Kolo Muani has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a good fit for the Tyneside club‘s needs in the long run. However, it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if the Magpies manage to bring him on board in 2025.
