According to Christian Falk, Manchester United recently approached Bayern Munich‘s Leroy Sane over a possible move next summer. Notably, the German international will be out of contract after the conclusion of the ongoing season.
Leroy Sane is set to leave Bayern Munich
Leroy Sane came into the limelight during his impressive stint at Manchester City. He made a significant contribution to the club’s success. However, as time passed his form dipped and his recurring injuries did no good to him either.
As a result, Sane moved to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020, where he has managed to revive himself. Talking about his form, he has scored three goals in 10 outings this season so far. He is averaging 1.1 shots, 0.8 key passes, and 0.8 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The German is versatile to play on both the wings and is known for his pace and trickery. He has great dribbling skills and visionary passing. With good shooting abilities and set-piece techniques, he is a great attacker to have in the side.
Leroy Sane can be a valuable addition to the side
Manchester United have spent high on attackers over the last few seasons. However, they still lack quality in the final third as they struggle to bury chances. Especially they don’t have any notable name for the right flank and players usually have to play out of their natural position to fill the spot.
Hence, the Red Devils want to sign Leroy Sane, who can take up the load of the right wing. He has ample Premier League experience and his qualities could be extremely useful in the final third. He can be an ideal fit into Ruben Amorim‘s system.
The 28-year-old is still at the peak of his powers and can provide some vital years going forward. Most importantly he will come as a free agent. Manchester United will however have to fight for his signature against the likes of Arsenal.
