According to a report from TBR, Liverpool are highly interested in signing Fulham’s Antonee Robinson in the January window. The Premier League club are even ready to offer Kostas Tsimikas in exchange for bringing the full-back to Anfield.
Antonee Robinson is doing well
Antonee Robinson is an Everton product and he joined Fulham in the summer of 2020. Since then, he has emerged as their mainstay and one of the solid performers. His consistently impressive displays have attracted interest from multiple clubs.
Robinson is continuing his notable form even in this season. He has already provided three assists in 11 outings so far. He is averaging 1.9 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, and 3.1 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).
The USA international is a reliable figure in one-on-one situations. He anticipates the threats well and is also strong in aerial duels despite no height advantage. He uses his pace, dribbling skills, and passing techniques to contribute to the offensive front.
Fulham’s response will be crucial
Liverpool have identified the left-back position as one of the areas they need to improve in the coming months. Andy Robertson is already 31 and he has shown signs of slowing down. Hence, it’s understandable that the English giant want to lure away Antonee Robinson.
Robinson is already doing a great job in the Premier League, meaning he will require less time to adapt. He has qualities similar to those of a Scottish left-back. Moreover, he is at the peak of his powers and can contribute some significant years to the club.
Fulham’s asking price is £40 million for the 27-year-old. However, Liverpool want to reduce the price tag by offering Kostas Tsimikas in exchange. It remains to be seen if the former side will be willing to accept the offer or not, especially in the winter window.
