According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool are highly interested in signing Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni next summer. The Premier League club are even formulating a bid near to €60 million to land the midfield at Anfield.
Aurelien Tchouameni is falling down the pack
Aurelien Tchouameni is a highly-rated midfielder who made his way to Real Madrid from Monaco in the summer of 2022. Coming with a lot of expectations, he hasn’t managed to live up to the hype as of now and can be seen struggling.
Tchouameni plays as a defensive midfielder in the middle of the park. He is known for his timely tackles, aerial dominance and shot blocking. He is also equipped well in distributing the passes and can score from a distance.
The French midfielder hasn’t been convincing enough despite featuring regularly. He has made 15 appearances this season so far. He is averaging 2 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, and 1.4 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).
Arne Slot wants Aurelien Tchouameni
Recently reports emerged that stated that Real Madrid are willing to offload Aurelien Tchouameni. The Spanish side isn’t happy with his progress and believes his countryman Eduardo Camavinga can do the job of a defensive midfielder more effectively.
Sensing the opportunity, Liverpool has shown interest in signing Tchouameni. They already wanted a number six in the form of Martín Zubimendi but the Spanish midfielder decided against joining them in the summer window.
While Ryan Gravenberch has made his mark in the concerned role, Arne Slot still wants a new option at his disposal. Tchouameni has the qualities and potential to do the job for Liverpool for a long period. He can certainly make a mark at Anfield.
The Reds are planning to make a bid of around €60 million. But it remains to be seen if the Whites will be convinced to let the talented player go for that much or not.
