According to a report by TEAMtalk, Chelsea are highly interested in signing Red Star Belgrade‘s Andrija Maksimovic. However, the Premier League club will have to pay a premium fee to land the youngster at Stamford Bridge.
Andrija Maksimovic has high reputation
Andrija Maksimovic is a highly-rated talent coming out of Red Star Belgrade. His prominent rise in the last 12 months justifies the amount of hype he carries around. Feeling his immense potential, many even call him the Serbian Messi.
Maksimovic has been in good touch in the ongoing campaign so far. He has already netted six goals and provided as many assists in 18 games.

Chelsea will have to pay a premium for Andrija Maksimovic
Chelsea’s interest in Andrija Maksimovic is not surprising at all. Over the past few seasons, they have been targeting hot talents across the globe. However, will this strategy work in the long-term or not, only time will answer this.
From the Blues’ point of view, they lack quality in the final third. Though they have done some notable recruitments this summer, they still need to be more clinical upfront. While Maksimovic might not be a regular starter, he will surely solidify his case with time.
The 17-year-old has the creative traits which a team needs to create goals. Though Chelsea will have to splash out a massive sum to sign the youngster, the player can surely justify the price tag in the long run. Apart from the Blues, Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Maksimovic.
