In a recent segment on his YouTube channel, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze. Romano said,
“Several clubs are keeping a close eye on Eberechi Eze.
“We know he’s always been appreciated by Tottenham. We know several other clubs have been scouting him, including Manchester United.
“Man United want to invest in a winger in 2025. They’ve not decided who that is going to be, so let’s wait. Let’s see what happens.
“But for sure, Eze is one of the players they have been scouting again, among many others. So, I’m not saying that he’s the only one, or he is the priority target. But for sure, Eze is a player appreciated around England. The release clause will still be there for summer 2025, in the region of £60 million.”
Eze’s Impressive Form In The Premier League
The 26-year-old has made an excellent start to this campaign as he has produced a series of productive displays for Crystal Palace in the final third. Eze has participated in nine matches for the Eagles this season, netting three goals and securing one assist across multiple competitions.
The English talent was a reliable performer on the offensive third of the pitch based on his average of 3.9 shots, 2.0 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He was even tidy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 83.6% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
Is Eze A Good Fit For Tottenham Hotspur?
Eze can make a few excellent runs with the ball out on the flanks. He can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third.
The English sensation can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He mainly operates as an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a left-winger if told to do so.
We can expect Eze to add more firepower to Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglu’s attack. He is good enough to nail down a regular starting spot at the North London club. At 26, Eze is about to enter his prime which makes him a great fit for Spurs‘ needs next year.
