In a recent report, Inter Live claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Atalanta wide player Raoul Bellanova as a target. It has been stated that Spurs are eyeing a move to bring the Italian talent to North London next year.
Bellanova’s Impressive Form In Serie A
Bellanova has made a good start to this Serie A campaign after he put in a few impressive displays for Atalanta on the right flank. The 24-year-old has scored one goal and grabbed one assist in nine matches for the Italian outfit this season in various competitions.
The Rho-born talent has been a good contributor at both ends of the pitch as he is averaging 0.8 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 0.6 clearances, 0.6 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He was even excellent when distributing possession from the right wing after making 87.2% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2029 which could make it difficult for Spurs to land him on a cut-price deal next year.
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Ange Postecoglu Snap Bellanova Up?
Bellanova is a good tackler of the ball and can make the odd interception for his team when defending inside his half. He usually clears the danger when needed and is a good dribbler with the ball.
The Italian sensation can create some decent plays for others around him from the right flank. He mainly functions as a right-sided wide player but can also serve as a right-back if asked to do so. However, the talented winger could struggle to adapt to the physicality and high intensity of English football.
Bellanova would add more quality to Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglu’s defence. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team spot at the North London club over the next few years. However, the Italian wide player might need some time before he can settle into life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
At 24, Bellanova has his best years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for Spurs to pursue in 2025. With all things considered, Tottenham should consider trying everything they can to lure him to the English capital this January or next summer.
