In a recent report, The Mirror stated that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are eager to acquire the services of the Spanish defender next year.
Porro’s Impressive Form In The Premier League
Porro has made a decent start to this Premier League campaign as he has put in a few impressive displays on the right side of Ange Postecoglu’s defence. The 25-year-old has registered one goal in eight matches for Spurs this season on all fronts.
The Spanish talent has been a good contributor at both ends of the field based on his average of 2.6 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, 2.0 clearances, 1.7 shots and 1.9 key passes per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He was even tidy with his ball distribution after making 78.2% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the North London club will expire in the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for Los Blancos to sign him on the cheap next year.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Snap Porro Up?
Porro loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the front foot and can strike the ball with power from long range.
The Spanish sensation can also set up a few promising chances for his teammates from the right flank. He is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player if required.
We can expect Porro to enhance the quality of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s first XI. He is more than capable of securing a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and could serve as a good successor to Dani Carvajal at the Madrid club in the long run.
At 25, Porro has his best years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for Los Blancos to consider in 2025. The Tottenham full-back has already got some experience in Spanish football and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Real Madrid. Therefore, Ancelotti would be wise to snap him up soon.
