Chelsea will welcome Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge this Sunday afternoon as they hope to collect all three points at home in the Premier League. The Blues suffered a difficult 2-1 loss away at Liverpool in their last Premier League game, so this clash would be a good opportunity for them to bounce back with a positive result this weekend.
Enzo Maresca will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to revert to his strongest first XI for this game. Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo could all play from the start of this contest.
4-3-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Newcastle United
Defence
Robert Sanchez will operate in between the sticks for the Blues after he was rested in midweek. Levi Colwill will play alongside Tosin Adarabioyo at the centre of the Chelsea backline as they hope to keep things solid at the back throughout the 90 minutes.
Reece James could get another chance to impress as the right-back while Malo Gusto looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and express themselves in the Newcastle half.
Benoit Badiashile will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Romeo Lavia will anchor the midfield along with Moises Caicedo as they look to establish their dominance over the opposition in the middle of the park. The talented trio of Jadon Sancho, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke will operate just ahead of them as part of Chelsea’s attack. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to create some decent chances in the final third.
Joao Felix and Pedro Neto will be named on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Nicolas Jackson will lead the line for the West London club up top. He would be eager to impress after his goal-scoring performance versus Liverpool last weekend.
Christopher Nkunku will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if the Blues are in need of a goal by then.
