Chelsea will welcome Gent at Stamford Bridge this Thursday night as they focus on securing a positive result at home in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The Blues managed to earn an impressive 4-2 win over Brighton and Hove Albion recently which should give them a ton of confidence ahead of this European clash.
Enzo Maresca will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a lot of tweaks to his first team for this game. Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix and Pedro Neto could all play from the start of this contest.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Gent
Defence
Filip Jorgensen will play in goal for Chelsea as he looks to keep a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge this week. Axel Disasi will strike up a partnership with Benoit Badiashile at the centre of Maresca’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay throughout the 90 minutes.
Josh Acheampong will fill in as the right-back while Renato Veiga hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Levi Colwill and Malo Gusto will be rested on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions. However, Reece James will be sidelined for this game due to a thigh injury.
Midfield
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Romeo Lavia will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on establishing their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk will function just ahead of them as part of the Chelsea attack. All three of them need to combine well and create some inviting chances in the final third.
Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke will be rested on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second half if needed.
Attack
Christopher Nkunku will lead the charge for the West London club on the offensive end of the field. He would have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for the Blues up top.
Nicolas Jackson will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if required.
