In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Newcastle United are willing to launch a move for Bournemouth ace Antoine Semenyo. It has been stated that the Magpies are open to making a €40m move for the Ghanaian winger but would have to rival Arsenal in the race to land him next year.
Semenyo’s Good Form In English Football
The 24-year-old has made a promising start to this Premier League campaign as he has put in a string of impressive displays for Bournemouth in the opposition half. Semenyo has scored three times and secured one assist in eight matches for the Cherries this season across all competitions.
The London-born sensation has caught the eye at times with his performances in the final third and deserves credit for averaging 4.4 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball after making 74.7% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
Semenyo’s current deal at the English club will expire in the summer of 2029. Thus, Newcastle would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting him next year.
Should Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe Recruit Semenyo?
Semenyo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field and can strike the ball with power and precision from long range.
The London-born sensation has done well to add a few goals and assists to his game this season and won’t take much time to settle into life at Newcastle United if Eddie Howe can devise a way to win the race for his services.
Semenyo would bring more firepower to the Tyneside club‘s frontline. He has what it takes to secure a regular starting place at St. James’ Park. At 24, the Ghanaian wide player has his best years ahead of him and would be a great signing for the Magpies in the long run. Therefore, the Tyneside club should focus on going all out to recruit him this January or next summer.
