According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester City are tracking the progress of Arda Guler at Real Madrid. The Premier League club might attempt signing him in the upcoming transfer windows if they are convinced enough with the youngster.
Arda Guler is a promising talent
Arda Guler arrived at Real Madrid from Fenerbahce last summer and since then he has taken huge strides. He has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in La Liga. Moreover, he has established himself well on the international stage.
Guler plays on the right wing but can shift towards the middle as he has playmaking abilities. He is technically sound, possesses good dribbling skills, and has visionary passing. He also has a good shooting range and tracks back to provide defensive contributions.
The Turkish featured in 12 games last season and netted six goals in the process. While he was expected to play more this season, Kylian Mbappe’s arrival has somewhere hindered his game time. Though he has played around 300 minutes this season so far, he has yet to contribute to a goal directly.
Long-term replacement for Kevin de Buryne?
Manchester City are monitoring Arda Guler’s situation at Real Madrid as the player reportedly isn’t happy at the club. He was expecting to have a prominent role in the team this season but that hasn’t been the case so far.
The arrival of Kylian Mbappe has intensified the competition and he is not getting enough game time. Though the Spanish club will try to hold him for the long term, things can change around rapidly.
The Citizens are probably interested in signing the 19-year-old as they look to sign a long-term replacement for Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder is in the final stage of his career and might fancy a move to the middle east if a lucrative offer arrives.
