According to Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Manchester City are closely monitoring Viktoria Plzen midfielder Pavel Sulc. The Premier League club are impressed with the youngster and could make an attempt to sign him next summer.
Who is Pavel Sulc?
Pavel Sulc made his senior team debut for Viktoria Plzen in 2020 and was sent on multiple loan spells. However, the Czech side decided to keep him ahead of the 2023-24 campaign, which also turned out to be a breakthrough season for the player.
Sulc netted 22 goals and provided eight assists in 49 games, attracting attention from multiple clubs. He also averaged 1.8 shots, 0.8 key passes, and 1.2 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Czech football plays as an attacking midfielder but can also operate on the wings. He has good speed, decent dribbling skills, and accurate shooting range. He also offers good physicality and a high work rate in the middle of the park.
Pavel Sulc can be a good acquisition
Manchester City are always on the hunt to acquire young talents who can be transformed into future stars. With them about to go into a transition period soon, it’s understandable to go after some talents to fill the gaps.
Pavel Sulc is a name that has emerged well in recent times and he has continued his red-hot form this season as well. He has good qualities in the final third and is bound to get better and better. His physicality and pace will suit him in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old could be a replacement for Julian Alvarez, who left for Atletico Madrid, or Kevin de Bruyne, who is in the final stage of his career. Sulc can be a long-term investment for Manchester City. But they will have to win the race first against the likes of Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur.
